Furniture plays a great role in any interior design. There are so many furniture styles with so many different options that it is really hard to make the right choice that will fit a home perfectly. The first thing that goes into an empty room is furniture, and then goes everything else – mirrors, lamps and other accessories. That’s why furniture plays such an important role in any interior design since it defines what other items would go in order to finish the decor of the room.

Furniture is a product of artistic design and is considered a form of decorative art. In addition to furniture’s functional role, it can also serve as a statement piece that uplifts your space. Domestic furniture works to create, in conjunction with furnishings such as lighting, comfortable and convenient interior spaces. Furniture can be made using a variety of woodworking joints.

The vintage burled wood of the art deco period, classic campaign furniture and other vintage looks are front and center and are often updated with contemporary materials or textures. The re-creation of mid-century historic pieces is a classic theme in furniture design. Another big theme is mixed metals, while we see brass and gold, polished nickel & silver are making a comeback. There is also a new metal finish made of white plaster with an organic finish that is being preferred for furniture’s like beds, chairs, table etc Natural objects, such as tree stumps, rocks, moss, and new materials such as steel in its many forms, glass, molded plywood and plastics are used formatively in the creation of these new designs.

A fusion of colors like blue paint added to a furniture, for rooms such as a bedroom creates a feeling of tranquility when mixed with neutral colors such as white / wood to enhance the look of your space. The darker the musically blue, to a furniture piece like the headboard makes the room more luxurious and it delivers a sentiment. Now a days, shades of grey are the trending color after blue for design accessories (tan leathers, reindeer furs, brass lamps and natural linen), furniture (armchair or cushions) , decor items as an accent. It adds depth to the room and on permanent surfaces such as ceilings and walls, upholstery and wood finishes. Usage of grey can also balance or tone down a bright colored space. Deep red is another color which is used in parallel tones on furniture’s like accent chairs, etc. It is an intense color that could spice up any home into a powerful sensation. Pastels and multi-tone colors are other colors appearing in most designs to highlight the furniture.

Now a days in bedrooms the upholstered headboards can be replaced with rough timber headboard which gives another dimension to the bed, adding elegance and warmth to the room.

This is the reason why furniture is extremely important to make any home warm and cozy to live in for which it concludes by saying “Furniture must have a personality and beauty to make a room Graceful & Exquisite”.
